Hello and welcome! This group was started by parents to provide a valuable need -- a place for kids with autism, asperger's, P.D.D. and/or sensory issues to meet and play while the parents join in, relax, or talk. Think of this group as one big playdate. If you've tried to find playmates or friends for your child, you'll know just how much this group is needed. The group is going through a re-vamp phase -- we are publicizing the group because the word hasn't gotten out and turn-out was low. The need for this group is definite, so rest assured that turnout should be better for our December meet-up. I (Blake) am the current Organizer of this group. I am a professional child and family therapist who works with kids on the spectrum. This group will not be a psychotherapy group but will continue to be a fun and casual self-help support group for parents. I will be facilitating the meet-ups and will be there to help kids make connections, learn play skills, and have fun! I can also answer parents' questions if need be. However, I have a lot of respect for the wisdom and support that parents bring into this group. Feel free to write me with any questions.

FIRST EVER LEGOŽ CLUB FOR CHILDREN ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM AGES 5+
Team-building, collaborative projects, supersized activities, and community events. This is not therapy, however, communication and interaction within the group offers opportunity for skills development in a non-threatening and non-judgmental environment. Children should be supervised and siblings (over age five) are welcome. Parents are encouraged to use this free opportunity for networking and support.

www.ihobbyexpo.com Want to come build October 18 and October 19? Come join me at the International iHobbyExpo in Rosemont at the Donald E. Stephens convention center. There will be something for hobbyists of all ages who are looking for model railroad displays and exhibits, slot cars, remote control cars, trucks, motorcycles, planes, boats, model blimps, helicopters, rocketry, tanks and military, plus die-cast metal collectibles, wood and plastic model kits and much more.

Brickworld begins on Thursday morning the week of the event. Thursday and Friday are devoted to registered attendees. During the day and evening of Thursday and Friday, various AFOLs and LEGO representatives have lots of time for bonding and sharing. During the day, there are classes, presentations and roundtable discussions provided by fellow AFOLs and other community partners. These sessions are designed to give registered attendees the opportunity to share with each other, learn from each other, discover new aspects of the hobby, and explore the various creations fellow AFOLs have on display. There are opportunities to: * Interact directly with LEGO representatives from all over the world
* Build creations on site
* Participate in contests and games
* Hang out with friends
* Shop at the local LEGO stores
* Have fun in many ways Hope to see you there!
